TENURE IS THE SIGNAL

The firms that price best are usually the ones that have simply been here longest

Depth of operating history moves the number more than size, sector, or sophistication. Two decades of ordinary work produces something a well-capitalised three-year-old cannot manufacture.

QUESTIONS ABOUT HISTORY

What long-running firms ask

We have changed systems three times. Is the old material useless?

Usually not. Archived and exported material still carries the reasoning. A migration fragments a record, it does not void it.

Does a long history mean a bigger number?

It is the strongest single signal, though what moves the price most is how much visible reasoning the record contains rather than its raw length.

Which companies qualify?

Any business with real operating history. Venture backed, middle market, or founder owned. History matters more than headcount or revenue.

What does it cost to find out?

Nothing at any point. There is no fee and no commission, because we are the buyer rather than your representative.

FINDING OUT WHERE YOU SIT

Two minutes to learn what tenure is worth

  • 01

    Six questions

What does the firm run on, and for how long? That alone indicates whether there is a conversation here.

  • 02

    A straight answer

If the record is too thin, you will hear that on the first call rather than after a process.

  • 03

    Review, then price

We look before we put a number on it. Depth and visible reasoning move the number far more than volume.

  • 04

    Papered and paid

Typically $100K to $2M, agreed within a week, paid Net 30 to 60 once the data is approved, shared, and anonymized.

WHY TIME MATTERS SO MUCH

Four things that only accumulate

  • Outcomes close the loop. Decisions made years ago have consequences now on the record, which recent decisions do not yet.
  • Cycles repeat. A firm that has traded through more than one downturn shows how the same judgement behaves under different conditions.
  • People change and the record persists. Reasoning survives the departure of whoever produced it.
  • Nothing substitutes for it. Capital can buy headcount and tooling, but it cannot buy twenty years of having already done the work.
